ELVIS ON TOUR (6 CD 1 BLU RAY) – IL CONTENUTO

La RCA/Legacy Recordings, per il 45° anniversario, ha annunciato l’uscita di “Elvis On Tour”, un cofanetto contenente un blu ray e 6 CD. Il box include 145 tracce, tra cui 91 inedite tra materiale live e in studio.

Il set sarà disponibile dal 2 dicembre 2022.

Come primo assaggio di materiale inedito è già possibile ascoltare “Burning Love (Rehearsal 2)” registrata agli RCA Recording Studios di Hollywood nel marzo 1972: elvis Burning Love (Rehearsal 2)

Il cofanetto di Elvis On Tour è prodotto da Ernst Mikael Jørgensen e mixato dal produttore di Memphis, vincitore del Grammy Award, Matt Ross-Spang. Le registrazioni originali sono state fatte da Felton Jarvis e Al Pachucki.

Il primo disco contiene il concerto inedito del 9 aprile 1972 all’Hampton Roads Coliseum, Hampton, Virginia.

Il secondo disco contiene il concerto inedito del 10 aprile 1972 al Richmond Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia.

Il terzo disco contiene il concerto inedito del 14 aprile 1972 al Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina.

Il quarto disco contiene il concerto precedentemente pubblicato nel cofanetto “Elvis: Close-Up” del 2003, remixato per questa versione del 18 aprile 1972 alla Convention Center Arena, San Antonio, Texas.

Il disco cinque contiene le prove del tour registrate agli RCA Recording Studios di Hollywood, California, il 30 e il 31 marzo 1972. Sono principalmente brani inediti mentre gli altri sono stati pubblicati precedentemente nei cd della FTD “Elvis On Tour – The Rehearsals” del 2004, “6363 Sunset Boulevard” del 2001 e nel “The Great Performances” del 1990.

Il sesto disco completa le prove di Elvis con la sua band agli RCA Recordings Studios con esibizioni registrate il 31 marzo 1972. Il disco include versioni inedite di “For The Good Times” e brani precedentemente disponibili solo nel cd della FTD “6363 Sunset Boulevard”, “Elvis On Tour”.

I pluripremiati registi Pierre Adidge e Robert Abel (Mad Dogs & Englishmen) sono andati in viaggio con Elvis Presley e la sua band con pass ad accesso illimitato, con telecamere e troupe per raccontare il Re del Rock & Roll al suo apice sul palco nel film della MGM ” Elvis On Tour”.

Il cofanetto include note di copertina dietro le quinte di Jerry Schilling, un amico personale di lunga data e membro della cerchia ristretta di Elvis.

Il set contiene anche un saggio dello storico/musicista del rock Warren Zanes, membro fondatore dei Del Fuegos e professore alla New York University.
